Fifty Shades of ... Purple

Amy Elizabeth Blog March 2013

According to the national wedding survey, one-in-five brides are opting for a rich purple colour injection in some aspect of their big day, beating both pink and blue as 2013's favorite colour-scheme. With regal undertones, cadbury purple, is a perfect colour choice for a formal big day, team with ivory or gold for a opulent look, or pinks and reds for a fab colour-clash summery feel.

How to add a splash of purple into your dream wedding day....

* Flowers - think hydrangeas, lilac and lavender,

* Bridesmaids - solid colour purple dresses suit both blonde and brunette hair or add a flash of purple with purple accessories such as Mia in violet,

* Groom Accessories - purple ties, handkerchiefs and socks peaking out from beneath trousers

* Table favours - Purple love hearts, or Purple quality street sweets,

* Reception Settings - Purple chair ties, table clothes, napkins and centerpieces

Top Trends - Roaring Twenties

Posted by on Feb 04, 2013 .

With 'The Great Gatsby' film remake hitting our cinema screens soon the world of interiors, fashion and weddings is sure to be well and truly inspired by the glamour and decadence of the Roaring Twenties. The look is all about evoking the luxuriousness of the era with statement drop-waisted gowns and fabulous embellished hairpieces whilst maintaining a gentle, nostalgic and romantic feel. We love a vintage feel colour palette of dusky pink, creams and dove grey, layered lace and pearls, Art Deco prints and Hollywood theater themed wedding invitations. Make sure all eyes are on you with the accessories you choose: beautiful embellished hair combs and head bands and art-deco geometric pleated clutch bags which hark back to the golden age of Old Hollywood Glamour.

Amy Elizabeth Bespoke - Handmade wedding bags

One of the most important accessories you will need on your wedding day is a beautiful bridal clutch bag or purse - where else are you going to keep those all important essentials like lipstick, tissues, compact mirror and mobile!!

Choose a handbag style that perfectly complements your dress - for a heavily embellished gown we recommend that you carry a simpler, plainer clutch purse. If your dress is a more classic simple style, you can enhance it with a beautiful corsage embellished bag or wristlet.

To help you remember everything you might need in your wedding bag we've put together our top 10 essentials -

1. Lipstick / Lip gloss - because your lips may get smudged when kissing everyone, drinking, and saying 'i do'

2. Face Powder - to stop any shine

3. Compact Mirror

4. Perfume - so you can top up your fragrance throughout the day

5. A small Deodorant

6. A mint  - to freshen up your breath for your groom

7. Tissues - For all the tears that are bound to be shed on the day

8. Safety pin - for fixing any outfit mis-haps

9. Extra Hair pins / grips

and most importantly ....

10. Your Smart Phone - so you can tell the world asap that your married via facebook and/or twitter x x
